I am very encouraged by the book and method but need a little guidance on how to proceed. I developed a protruded disk (in my lower back) last year and through time and frequent performance of some stretches, that were provided to me by a physical therapist, my pain became bearable enough to not inhibit me, but it's always there. I recently "pulled" something again and I'm now experiencing severe lower back pain when on my feet for just a few minutes. I discovered your book in a search for a better way (I knew there had to be one).
There's a caution on page 28 of the book about how to proceed when suspecting a herniated disk, that one should skip Lessons 3,4,and 7 for now, and instead start with Lessons 1,2, and 5.
I'm having good success with stretchsitting but not so with stretchlying. I seem to wake up in greater pain in the morning. If not for the warning I'd have likely tried stretchlying on my side, as this has always been my preference, and just sleeping on my side in a typical fashion when in this condition does seem to produce a less jarring result come morning. Of course I'd much rather determine how to use these stretching methods effectively than resort back to my old temporary methods of relief. It is certainly possible that I'm not doing the stretchlying properly and that's why I'm experiencing pain. I have tried to avoid arching my back, although I haven't been very successful at producing the pelvic gap yet. The book doesn't seem to suggest that not having the gap alone will impact the effectiveness of the stretch - or will it? I was looking for the Free Audio Guide Download on stretchlying, advertised to be on this site on the last page of the book, but I can't find it. Watching the Google video and seeing the other stretches performed live were very helpful, so I thought I might also pick up some additional stretchlying pointers listening to the audio instruction. Is that still available? Any additional help with this would be great.

Sorry the audio download is delayed. I am trying to coordinate my schedule with my assistant who is helping me with the audio recording. It will happen soon.

I hope to try stretchlying again down the road when the positive effects of these other stretches help move me towards a pain-free back. Looking forward to the audio of that when it's available.
Thanks again.
