I am so grateful to Kathleen, Esther and the entire Gokhale team. Before I started this method, I could barely walk for 15-20 minutes and had to stop 3-4 times because of back pain. And it was so painful to bend that I had “grabbers” in every room in the house. I slept with a cervical neck pillow and sat on all my seats with a lumbar cushion. I thought I was doing the right thing for myself. I have bulging discs in L1-S1, stenosis, scoliosis, etc. I couldn’t stand long in the kitchen either. After I did any little thing, I had to sit in my reclining chair and relax my back. I did my physical therapy exercises daily. But at 73 I thought it was all downhill from there. I had been praying for help when a friend told me about the Gokhale Method. At first, it seemed so different and complicated that I just ignored it. Then someone else told me about how much they were helped by it and I decided to look at it again with a more open mind. I watched all the free videos online and started to implement some of the techniques. The first time I did Stretchsitting I noticed such a huge difference that I dove into the knowledge quickly from there. I bought Esther’s book and DVD and devoured it all. I had a consultation with Esther. And then I realized I needed one-on-one coaching to help with my particular body and issues. I am amazed, totally amazed, at how my body and life have been transformed. I now walk an hour every morning with zero back pain. I rarely, if at all, have to stop to relax and heal my back from any activity. I put my back brace away in the closet. I had been wearing it daily. I bend easily and pain-free. Actually I really like the opportunity to bend and pick up something from the floor, it feels so good! I can see now each day that the postures are becoming more natural. The cramping I had in my lower back/upper buttocks on one side from the scoliosis is subsiding. The Rib Anchor and Inner Corset are pure lifesavers. This has been the best investment in my health. I know I do not need back surgery now. I got rid of all the “inappropriate” pillows and cushions. I have the Gokhale Stretchsit Cushion everywhere I sit in the house and in the car. I sleep, sit, stand, and walk with my new posture. I made a trip via train to see my family and had no back issues. Life is good.
