Biography
As a practitioner in the alternative healthcare field for over 20 years, Cynthia has been committed to offering her patients a pain free, efficient path to wellness. As an acupuncturist and a Bowen Therapist she has observed, over the years, that chronic conditions and injuries were often the result of poor body mechanics. Instinctively, she knew there was something fundamental at the base of good health and freedom from pain that should be part of the way we use our body every single day. She herself has scoliosis and has had pain issues on and off for most of her adult life. So when she read about the Gokhale Method, she enrolled in the Foundations course. Right away she knew that the optimal architecture of the body that was being taught was what she had been thinking about. Becoming a teacher was the logical next step so that she could pass on this wonderful work that had helped her so much.
Prior to her career in the healthcare field, for more than a decade, Cynthia was a professional opera singer and sang as a soloist with regional companies all over the U.S. including the New York City Opera. Because of this connection, she has worked with many performers over the years, including instrumentalists, dancers, actors and singers. The Gokhale Method beautifully supports this community in preventing injuries due to incorrect posture and the overuse of the muscles in these compromised positions. She is thrilled to be able to teach this work to them.
