I had a L5 - S1 microdiscectomy in October 2010. I've been building my way to a stronger core and trying to unlearn the bad habits that brought about the herniated disc to begin with so it doesn't repeat in the future.
I learned of your book about a week ago and have been learning the steps, so far with great results.
What is your view of zero gravity recliners, such as those they sell at Relax The Back?
I'm considering getting this chair as an alternative to laying or sitting on the (soft) leather couch we currently have in our family room.

Any reclining chair provides a nice sitting option that takes pressure of the spine. Unfortunately, they almost always have poor contours. You can remedy this by adding towels / blankets / cushions to make the contours support more of an ideal J-spine. I have a recliner that I use a Stretchsit® cushion with - thsi makes the contour good and allows me to add a little healthy traction into my spine. In fact, if you are stretchistting, you have less need to recline because there is less pressure on the spine to begin with. But if you don't need to sit upright, for example if you are watching TV, it's nice to completely take pressure off the spine and a recliner has its place...
