How to modify car seat and cart

Hi- thank you for asking this. I have a similar question, but specifically am wondering if anyone knows of a car seat on the market that offers a good seat position out of the box. I had a Doona, and the head area was pushed forward so much that my baby at 8 months began to cry endlessly and intensely in that car seat. I knew the posture it forced her into was the issue. So, we got a basic cheap Graco (Fast Action sport Quick Connect Travel system) that did NOT have the extra fancy padding or head adjustment. That next day she immediately fell asleep in her car seat instead of crying hysterically. Now that my baby is almost 2, she needs a bigger seat. We just got the Graco 4Ever DLX, but it has the same head protrusion issue as the expensive Doona It makes her head tilt forward and squishes her neck. She hates it.. I will modify with a folded washcloth like I tried with the Doona, but it's hard to keep in place. If anyone has suggestions for a car seat that comes with good ergonomics I am all ears!! Thank you!
