Disc Healed, Still got Pain, Suggestions?

Hi Esther,

Well 1 year ago I had the following.

L4L5 Disc Prolapse Pushing on Thecal Sack

L5S1 Herniated, Enroaching on Right Nerve Right

Disc Dessication in Both

Yesterday I got my MRI results back

L4L5 Discs Perfect

L5S1 Discs Perfect

I was in tears when I heard the good news, It appears after months of agony my Back had finally healed.

Howevever I'm not out of the woods yet, I've been trying to keep my posture good, always stretch sitting and stretch lying ( Stack sitting hurts me and brings on instant pain for some reason ).

Anyways I still have daily pain and nerve issues, Is this normal for someone who's healed up? Does it just take the body a while to get over injuries like this?

Thanks

- Paul

HI Paul,

So good to hear that your discs have healed-Bravo!

Keep up all of the good work.  Yes, I know it can be frustrating, but it can take time for some of the pain to subside.  Unfortunately the body can "remember" the pain after the trigger has been removed.  In our experience, as you build up even more length (Stretchsitting/Stretchlying especially) and develop the strength to maintain this length during activity (Inner Corset), your pain should lessen over time.

It could be helpful to schedule time with an instructor to further polish your posture.  If you haven't taken the GMF course yet, see if there is one offered in your area.  Or, if you have, it could be very useful for you to schedule a one-on-one with a Gokhale teacher.

Good luck to you!

Warmly,
