Do traction devices provide benefit or hinder results while using this method? (At home traction devices prescribed by doctor that stretch the neck for 90 seconds and release, traction devices used by physical therapists, traction methods used by hands on approach by physical therapist or chiropractor)

Great question. The Gokhale Method absolutely believes in traction and most of the techniques we use are aimed at elongating the spine in various ways. Traction devices are not always a bad idea, however they can be expensive or use too much force for what your body is ready for. We prefer using a gentler approach and decompressing the discs/stretching the muscles slowly over time. For example, when one Stretchsits or Stretchlies, you can be in traction, albeit a small amount, for potentially many hours a day. We have found this to provide lasting results rather than putting yourself in traction for shorter bursts of time.
I hope this is helpful to you!
Warmly,
