I am in my first week of the six week course and I have high hopes of success. I was diagnosed with lumbar stenosis perhaps three years ago. The pain has progressed to the point that I can only stand or walk for six or seven minutes without having to sit or squat for pain relief.
Only spinal injections of cortisone have ameliorated the discomfort and then not every time. It is time for me to schedule another injection, but since it is so invasive, I am considering acupuncture. My only experience with it was as pain relief for my dog's final months. (He was a stoic old guy, so I don't know how much I can extrapolate to my condition.)
Please inform me of what I might expect from acupuncture therapy.
